Everything you need to know about our linen fabrics, counts, ordering and care.

Lea is the yarn count used for linen. The higher the number, the finer the yarn. A 40s or 44s Lea linen is heavier with a more visible texture, while 100s, 125s and 150s Lea linens are finer, lighter and smoother.

Linen is woven from flax fibre. It breathes well, absorbs moisture and dries quickly, which is why it stays comfortable in warm, humid weather.

As a general guide: wash gently in cold or lukewarm water with a mild detergent, avoid bleach on coloured or printed linen, dry in shade, and iron while the fabric is slightly damp. Always follow any care advice given with your purchase.

Linen can shrink slightly on its first wash. Many tailors pre-wash or soak the fabric before cutting. Please check with your tailor before stitching.
